Originally incorporated in Alberta, Canada in 1984 by our founder Mike Milinusic to provide estimating, planning, and cost control consulting services, OnTrack Engineering has a long history of project work and has seen the rise of technology from its outset. As the former lead estimator for Foster Wheeler & SNC Lavalin, Mike envisioned integrating and codifying his highly successful methodologies into CostTrack. Released in 1996, CostTrack was the first system on the market that integrated cost management with the supply chain showing proven results of over 10% savings over previous methodologies. Even today, these important processes are handled separately in many organizations commonly causing cost and schedule delays.
The company no longer provides engineering services and focuses purely on excellent support and superior development to continually improve the software. OnTrackPM was released in 2001, incorporating the first iteration of the OnTrack Control Framework (OCF). The software has been evolving as a platform ever since, adding features based on valuable feedback from clients, utilizing more powerful coding languages, and integrating more project and document management tools with a common-sense and practical approach. OnTrackPM’s 3rd generation released in 2015 uses the latest technologies and has evolved into a highly configurable SaaS platform.
